Summer Program-OCAVA

Ann with OCAVA participants and teachers after the second concert. 2014

Ann was a participant in OC Vocalis Academy's summer festival, which was a three week intensive vocal workshop that included daily Italian courses, daily voice lessons, weekly masterclasses, and weekly performances from June-July 2014 in Rome, Italy. Ann studied with three different voice teachers and grew tremendously through each teacher's approach, feedback, and point of focus. On the first week she studied with Dubravka Zubovic, world famous mezzo-soprano and founder of OCAVA. During the second week she worked with Dr. Mark Goodrich, Professor of voice at Cal. State Fullerton. On the third week she studied with Milena Kitic, famous mezzo-soprano. Ann worked on five Italian arias, including: "Batti, batti o bel Masetto," "Vedrai carino," and "Una donna a quindici anni," by Mozart, "O mio babbino caro," by Puccini, and "Ma rendi pur contento," by Bellini. She uncovered a new voice through the guidance of these teachers and experienced an immense sense of growth in musicianship and as an artist.
