Solo Performance at First Lutheran Church, Carlisle PA

Ann performed as a soloist during a Christmas service at First Lutheran Church in Carlisle, PA on December 21, 2014 . She also joined the choir as an alto. Ann performed, as a soloist in Pium Paum by Stephen Paulus, "Beautiful Star" from Ringelfänße, by Libby Larsen, and A Manger Carol by Dale Wood. She also performed A Christmas Carol, and Wolf Schlafendes Jesuskind from Mörike-lieder by Hugo Wolf as a soloist. Other choral pieces performed include works by William Billings, Carl Schalk, Robert Shaw,  Hugo Distler, and Andre Thomas. 

This was a wonderful professional opportunity for Ann as she learned a lot about actually working as a singer. Although challenging, Ann joined Aaron Sunstein's choir at the dress rehearsal and learned the music very quickly. Two of her solo pieces were accompanied by a harp and another by bells! Ann adjusted her sound quickly as she sang with these beautiful instruments. Ann hopes there will be more solo opportunities at First Lutheran Church!
